About MCC

Marti’s Cakes & Catering was created from love and a passion for cooking that began developing at the age of four. While spending time in the kitchen with her grandmothers, Marti’s love for cooking grew into a passion and the desire to become a chef. During her teenage years, Marti improved her cooking skills by learning to make classic dishes such as chicken and dumplings and baking homemade breads. During high school, Marti continued baking and began selling pound cakes and layer cakes to have extra spending money and to pay for things such as her senior trip.
In 2008, Marti graduated from Fullington Academy and began working on her Associate’s degree in Business at Middle Georgia College. While in college, Marti continued to sell cakes to the public. Marti continued to grow in her pastry work while completing her Bachelor’s of Business Degree at Georgia Southern University. In pursuit of achieving her childhood dream of becoming a chef, Marti continued her education at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina, by completing the Pasty Arts program. While in the pastry program, Marti worked under the tutelage of the programs renowned chefs in breads, pastries, cakes, and several of pastries specialties. Following graduation, Marti interned at the world renowned five-star Sea Island Resort.
At the age 23, Marti moved home to Pineview, Georgia to begin her long time dream of owning her own bakery and catering company.
